Game of Thrones: Seven Gods, Seven Kingdoms, Seven Seasons

Various reports have been circling the internet for a while now, as to if there will be 7 or 8 Seasons to Game of Thrones. If you are a fan of GoT you will agree with me when I say that it simply should just never end – ever!

Sadly though Entertainment Weekly has advised that after talks with writers it would appear that we are only in for 7 seasons….

“It was our unstated goal, because to start on a show and say your goal is seven seasons is the height of lunacy. Once we got to the point where we felt like we’re going to be able to tell this tale to its conclusion, that became [an even clearer] goal. Seven gods, seven kingdoms, seven seasons. It feels right to us.”

Does this mean that we will miss out on a good portion of the story from the Southern Kingdoms?  Writers are working with George R.R Martin to finish off the epic on screen tale appropriately, however with two more books still to write I don’t think we are going to be seeing the story conclude the same way the written series will.

The next season of GoT will hit screens next month, so in the meantime it’s back to the book for me as I want to have it all read before I watch any further.iron

And by “liking” this, I mean “Thanks for the update!” Not “Thank the Old Gods there will only be 7 seasons!”
