“We’re also excited to announce that EA is continuing its partnership with Vince Zampella and the Respawn Entertainment team,” EA announced today. “Through a new publishing agreement, we’ll be working with Respawn to bring new Titanfall experiences to players worldwide.”
We don’t know if this will remain an Xbox exclusive or if PlayStation gamers will get to finally enjoy Titanfall yet or not, I will be sure to update you when further details surface though. Now here’s the interesting part, whilst the fact that Titanfall will produce another game in the series is no surprise, it may not necessarily be made by Respawn. If you remember in March we had announcement that EA had secured the rights to publish Titanfall 2, so we will just have to wait and see how that pans out and if Respawn do in fact stay on as the publisher for this hit title.
Now onto the sales, EA has also announced that the NPD figures show that Titanfall has sold a staggering 925,000 units retail up until the end of March. So this is just for physical sales, this does not include digitally purchased games or those sold on Xbox 360 as that was not released until April. So all in all, Titanfall is off to an enormous start. The stats released at the end of April will give us a better picture of just how successful this game has been in its first moments of online life.
