There’s one game coming out this year that everybody wants more information on, little bits and pieces of information have been leaked and released here and there which makes it hard to stay on top of all the news.
Well worry no longer as I’m back again with my Big CoD Update #3.
Who will be developing AW?
For the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions Sledgehammer Games is taking the reins.
For the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions however, they will be developed by another studio that is yet to be announced.
When will the game be released?
November 4th 2014 for all platforms.
So what’s it all about?
Official Description: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, developed by Sledgehammer Games (co-developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3), harnesses the first three-year, all next-gen development cycle in franchise history. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise. Delivering a stunning performance, Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – one of the most powerful men in the world – shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.
Get ready for a ground breaking campaign:
You will be playing as Private Mitchell, who is brought to life by the voice of Troy Baker (Joel from The Last of Us) and you will be dealing with the aftermath of a massive catastrophic attack “similar to 9/11” set in the year 2054. The campaign starts with an attack by the KVA, an international terrorist organization equipped with EXO Suits. You will be fighting alongside Will Irons, son of Jonathan Irons, to stop the attack on the US soil. Afterwards, Jonathan Irons confronts Mitchell and hires him to join Atlas PMCs.
Private Military Corporations (PMCs) have become dominant armed forces for countless nations outsourcing their military needs and Kevin Spacey stars is the most powerful man in the world within the game and runs the Atlas Corporations – the main company and villain in the game.
Get ready for an all-new HUD which makes the entire action more immersive and the “follow” icon from previous games has been changed to now be a part of your HUD and improved to be more futuristic, AW also no longer features the typical Call of Duty campaign loading screens with the random voice talking quickly about your objective.
What awesome new abilities will I have as ‘Mitchell’?
As an ‘advanced soldier’ you will be able make use of boost jumps and grappling, covert cloaking abilities, and biomechanics that provide unparalleled strength, awareness, endurance, and speed. You can also climb walls, boost-dodge, use zip lines, perform super-jumps, cloak your self with optic camo, and hover in mid-air. The new Exoskeleton armour will fundamentally change some of the abilities and features within Call of Duty.
Will I get any new cool toys to play with?
You most certainly will. Ranging from “variable grenades” that can be cooked from a concussion grenade to a threat-detector and highlights enemies via an augmented reality system visible in your visor. Some of the new weapons are energy-based, and do not use traditional ammunition.
If that’s not exciting enough how about a Pitbull, which is based on the real world Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, OR Hoverbikes !!!!!
As we know AW is being built on a whole new engine with a whole new audio engine as well which makes knowing that there will be ‘some’ form of co-op mode even more exciting.
They have not officially announced what this will be however there is a lot of speculation floating around. Something that a lot of people missed when SHG made this announcement was the picture that they used to promote that with had an arena in the background. Knowing what we know about CoD and Activision marketing, nothing gets released when promoting their games that does have some sort of meaning or relevance to that piece of news, just how an arena fits into it all though is still a mystery.
