Games From E3 That I Want Now

With E3 just about done, I've decided to put together a list of games that grabbed my attention. With so many great looking games showcasedthis year, it was awfully hard to narrow it down to just a handful of games.

Without further ado, here are the games that I want to play right now:

inFamous: First Light (PlayStation 4) – 08.26.14

First Light is a stand alone DLC that revolves around the back story of one of the supporting characters from Second Son (SS), Fetch. I thoroughly enjoyed SS & Fetch was arguably my favorite character in SS, well either her or Delsin, so when I saw this trailer during the Sony conference I had a nerdgasm. First Light is probably the one game I want to play the most, luckily I only have to wait a couple of months.

Rise of the Tomb Raider (PlayStation 4, Xbox One) – Q4 2015

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the one game that surprised me the most. We all knew that Crystal Dynamics was working on the sequel to Tomb Raider, which was released last year, but I doubt anyone expected to see it at this year’s E3. I absolutely loved the previous game and have been impatiently waiting for Square Enix to officially announce the sequel. When I saw this trailer, I was as giddy as a little kid on Christmas morning.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC) – 02.24.15

If I remember correctly, this was the first game that was showcased that grabbed my attention and I was like “Whoa”. I’ve never played any of the previous installments in the franchise, so after seeing this trailer, I now need to go pick up The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for my 360.

Sunset Overdrive (Xbox One) – 10.28.14

Dead Rising 3 and Sunset Overdrive are two reasons why I got myself an Xbox One. This game is just one of those games that goes back to the 90s, where video games were just fun as hell to play, no serious tones, just alot of damn fun to play. Sunset Overdrive is being developed by one my favorite developers, Insomniac Games, the creative minds who created Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank & Resistance franchises exclusive for the PlayStation consoles. Sunset Overdrive marks Insomniac’s first game exclusive to an Xbox console; I must say the trailer is AWESOME.

Assassin’s Creed Unity (PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC) – 10.28.14

I’m a big time fan of the AC series, so it’s no surprise that Unity is on this list (ha!)! Unity is one of the many Ubisoft published games that I’m looking forward to. Ubi had a really good showing at this year’s E3. Seeing the mass amounts of people in the streets had my mouth drop, and I really like the co-op feature added to Unity, that should be alot of fun.

Yoshi’s Woolly World (Wii U) – Q1 2015

Yoshi’s Woolly World is just another one of those games that looks to be fun as hell to play. The presentation of Yoshi’s Woolly Word is very reminiscent of Kirby’s Epic Yarn, which happens to be one of my favorite titles on the original Wii, except with the graphic capabilities of the Wii U it looks like an actual f*ckin yarn. If you’ve ever played any of the Yoshi games, the gameplay is exactly what you would expect from a Yoshi game, very Yoshi’s Island-esque. The ability to play this cooperatively with 2 players is very appealing to me; this would be the perfect game to play with my two young nieces. It’s too bad this game doesn’t come out until next year, but it’s slated for a release during the first part of 2015, though.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Wii U) – Q4 2014

When I first saw this trailer, the first thing it reminded me of was Luigi’s Mansion, but with a lighter tone (obviously). I did notice some puzzle solving in the trailer something that’s not in the Mario series, iirc. One thing that can be said about Nintendo’s first-party titles is that they all just look fun as hell to play, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is no different. As someone who does not currently own a Wii U, this title among others shown at E3 has sold me getting a Wii U.

Far Cry 4 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 & PC) – 11.18.14

Yes, another one of the games that Ubisoft showed off this week. I have yet to play any of the other Far Cry games, even the critically acclaimed and #1 rated shooter of 2012, Far Cry 3. I definitely need to get on the Far Cry train and playthrough #3 before November 18th (ha!) ! I must say that this game looks fantastic and appears that it’ll be a whole lot of fun.

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix (PlayStation 3) – 12.02.14

Here we have the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix, and if you know me this shouldn’t be a surprise at all. I have been patiently impatiently waiting for this game to be released. The original release of KH II, was my favorite game on the PlayStation 2. For more information on this collection, go here.

Tom Clancy’s The Division (PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC) – 2015

Yet another Ubisoft title, what can I say alot of their titles are very appealing to me. The Division is a game that all of us gamers have been looking forward to since it was seen at last year’s E3. Based off all the footage that I’ve seen for this game, it looks like it’ll be a fantastic game, but let’s hope all the hype around The Division doesn’t kill the experience.

I can’t end this without throwing out a few honorable mentions.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Seige

Devil’s Third

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

The Last Of Us (Remastered)

(Please note, that there are alot of spoilers in this trailer)

Mario Maker
