Destiny Alpha extended & new companion app avail today only

Bungie has extended the alpha testing for an ‘undefined’ amount of time so you don’t have to say goodbye this morning like you thought.

They are also introducing a new game mode called ‘Expert Mode’. No details yet as to what this game mode is about, if you are a part of the alpha testing and have access to this mode please tell us about it.

Bungie news also reports that you have access today only to a alpha android companion app.

Here are the details from Bungie:

As a member of the Bungie Community, you have access to the Destiny First Look Alpha Android application.  Click the ‘opt-in/opt-out’ link in the Links section to join.  A few items of note:
o   If you’re an existing Bungie Android app user, your app will be upgraded once you opt in (or shortly thereafter — might take up to five minutes for the upgrade to be available)
o   You will need to sign in to the app with your PSN account that you’re using in the Destiny First Look Alpha
o   After the Alpha is complete, you can return back to the official released version of the Bungie Android app by clicking the opt-in/opt-out link again and selecting to opt-out

UPDATE 1030 AEST: The alpha testing extension is almost over, making for nearly an extra days access to those lucky enough to be participating. Jump on now and try out the new game mode before it’s gone.
