343 Industries take up the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’

The awesome team over at 343i have gotten behind the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ in style.

Joined by The Master Chief who had the pleasure of dealing out the punishment, producers Bonnie Ross, Dan Ayoub, Kiki Wolfkill and Josh Holmes all jumped in line to take part in raising awareness and funds to help this very worthy cause.

Steve Downes (the voice of The Master Chief), Pete Parsons (Bungie), Dan Greenawalt (Turn 10) and Jen Taylor (the voice of Cortana), have all been challenged next to talk up the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Steve Downes has already done this once but being the stand up guy that he is I think we are likely to see him on screen doing it again shortly.

Have you been wondering what all this ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ stuff is about?

This is a campaign to raise funds for research and awareness of ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.
Please follow the link to the ALS Association website to make a donation to help find a cure for this horrible disease, and also get behind those that are taking part in the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’. By making a donation and participating in this campaign you can help change the lives of those living with this disease.
