While we still have a while to wait until the release of Halo 5, it’s starting to become very clear that the upcoming release of The Master Chief Collection will play a very important role in not only setting the scene for Halo 5, but also in unlocking bonus valuable content for the Halo 5 beta.
In an interview with Kotaku, Dan Ayoub and Kiki Wolfkill shed a bit of light on what we can expect:
“We’ve added bookend cinematics that start to introduce some characters you’re gonna see in Halo 5 and kinda set up the story that way. The characters you’re gonna see in the cinematics won’t appear in the gameplay of Halo 2. They’re just setting up some guys you’re gonna see in Halo 5. We’re gonna show the Arbiter. We’re gonna show the new Halo 5 character Locke. Characters like that. You’re gonna see some old characters and some new ones.”– Ayoub.
“I would think of it as connective tissue to Halo 5,” – Wolfkill.
Halo 2 will see the inclusion of these special cut scenes plus hidden ‘terminals’.
“We have terminals in Halo 2 Anniversary, and they’ll also give some insight into the storyline and what’s coming down the road in Halo 5 for people who want to go find those.” -Ayoub.
By purchasing The Master Chief Collection you will get access to not only the Halo 5 beta, but also the Halo Channel. This is where you will encounter the live action series ‘Nightfall’.
THIS is where you can really unlock yourself some decent items for the Halo 5 beta. Wolfkill assures us that this is the kind of content you are going to want to unlock, not just pieces of art work etc.
