According to an article by the Wall Street Journal Sony is currently in negotiations with various companies to reach a deal that will see a internet TV streaming service brought to the PlayStation Network.
Andrew House from Sony, when asked about the company’s streaming strategy, is quoted as saying “A streaming-based approach needs to have a very wide funnel of devices, and that inherently means a broad and manufacturer-agnostic approach.”
It looks like this is something that will be a reality for Sony over the coming months which makes sense considering Sony signed an agreement with Viacom, according to the article, so that they can stream over 20 channels which including some of the more popular ones like Nickelodeon and MTV.
As you would expect, no official announcement has come out of camp Sony about this as of yet, however I will keep my eye out and let you know more as this unfolds.
Sony Entertainment Hub?…………… this sounds familiar for some reason.
