This week’s game releases will leave you broke (Sept 30th – Oct 6th)

Are you looking for a new game to purchase, but are unsure of what game(s) to buy? Well, here are some of the games that caught my eye and will be releasing this week. (Just for clarification, these are North American release dates.)

September 30th

Forza Horizon 2 – Xbox One & Xbox 360

FH2

‘Race through a massive wide-open world featuring dramatic weather and day to night cycles. Instantly connect with friends in the ultimate celebration of speed, style, and action-packed driving. Explore beautiful and exotic locations in more than 200 of the world’s greatest cars, all created with precise detail in 1080p. Pre-order now and preload to your Xbox One!’

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor – Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 & PC

mordor

An upcoming action role-playing video game set in The Lord of the Rings universe, being developed by Monolith Productions and due to be released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game will bridge the gap between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings saga

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments – Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 & PC

crimes

‘From luscious gardens to Victorian manors, to grim crimes scenes, discover the beautiful and meticulously detailed environments you will explore as Sherlock Holmes in Frogwares’ latest investigation game, Crimes & Punishments, coming from September 30 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. A testimony to Frogwares’ care and attention to detail in their gorgeous recreation of the Victorian era, this video is the third of a series focusing on the many new aspects brought to Crimes & Punishments, expanding on the series in every way.’

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax – Xbox 360 & PS3

persona‘The game takes place a week after the event of Persona 4 Arena, in fictional rural Japanese town of Inaba. Unlike in the prequel that focused on the TV World, the event occurs in the real world. However, due to the enemies’ interference, Inaba is shrouded by red fog and turns into a labyrinth that mixes with the places of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 such as Moonlight Bridge, Club Escapade, and Tartarus.’

  October 1st

Chariot – Xbox One

chariot

‘Chariot is a couch co-op platformer that can be played alone or with a friend. Players take the role of the brave Princess or her faithful Fiancé as they maneuver the departed king’s coffin-on-wheels through 25 levels set in 5 vibrant underground environments, with his majesty’s ghost giving them a piece of his mind every step of the way.’

Chariot is available to download for free during October as a part of Xbox’s Games with Gold.

October 3rd

Super Smash Bros. 3DS – 3DS

SSB‘Like in previous games in the series, Super Smash Bros. is a fighting game in which up to four players use various attacks, techniques, and items to deal damage to their opponents. The aim of the game is for players to increase their opponents’ damage percentage, causing them to fly back further when attacked, and knock them out of the playing field. Returning items first introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl include the Smash Ball, which allows characters to perform powerful Final Smash attacks, and Assist Trophies, which summon various other video game characters onto the field to attack opponents or help in other ways.

Also, don’t forget that you have an array of free games available to you for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation platforms (PlayStation free games for October will not be announced until October 7th, please check back with us later this week):

PlayStation Now for October (to be included October 7th)

PS Now

Looks like we have some great titles coming out this week, I sure hope you’ve got your credit card ready. If you only have enough money to get one game out of these, the game that I would personally recommend is Forza Horizon 2. You can currently download the demo of this game on Xbox One so you can make sure it’s for you before you outlay for the full purchase. To all my fellow gamers, enjoy the game(s) you decide to pick up this week and get your game on.
