What’s Hot in Gaming Releases This Week!! (10.27.14)

A new week of releases is upon us. Check out what games will be releasing this week. *These releases are accounted for North America only. This is also not the complete list of every release.

October 28

Lords of the Fallen (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Lords_of_The_FallenFans of hack-and-slash action-RPGs should definitely look into this game. It has been compared to games like Darksiders & Dark Souls. Lords is divided into acts and isn’t an open world RPG like Dark Souls or Skyrim, which is a disappointment to me, but if the story is excellent it won’t matter. This is definitely a game I will have to try out as it sounds like it could be something worth my $60.

NBA Live 15 (PS4, Xbox One)

NBA_Live_15_cover_artEA Sports takes another shot at the virtual hardwood with their second installment of NBA LIVE since rebooting it last year. EA has stated they have made major improvements to the NBA LIVE franchise and I sure hope so since LIVE 14 was a major, major flop & disappointment. EA Sports has also acknowledged the issues surrounding the LIVE franchise as of late and has given early adopters an incentive to buy the game week one.

Costume Quest 2 (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U)

Costume_Quest_2This is the sequel to the original Costume Quest, which was released in 2010. In the sequel there is a new villain in town, the local creepy dentist. I must say this game looks rather appealing after doing some research on it. If you’re a PlayStation 3 or 4 owner, you get ‘Sackboy’ from LittleBigPlanet as a special costume.

Depending on which platform you choose will dictate when it’s available, and the release dates are as follows:

PC: Available Now

PlayStation Consoles: October 28th

Xbox 360: October 29th

Wii U: October 30th

Xbox One: October 31st

Costume Quest 2 is iDizzy81’s pick of the week stating that his reason as “Tim Schafer and Double Fine, nuff said”.

WWE 2K15 (PS3, Xbox 360)

cenaWWEOwners of a PS4 or Xbox One will have wait a few more weeks to get their hands on WWE 2K15 as it doesn’t release until November 18th. 2K15 marks the second year of the 2K Sports & WWE partnership. Unfortunately, this version of the game does not have the MyCareer mode that will be present in the new-gen edition of the game, but has included a game mode called, ‘Who Got NXT?’ which focuses around 5 different up-and-comers from NXT.

WWE fans whom still have an Xbox 360 or PS3 should definitely look into picking this game up.

Assassin’s Creed: The Americas Collection (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Assassin_s_Creed_The_Americas_Collection_announced_by_Ubisoft_jolbh4Here we have another Assassin’s Creed collection, this revolving around the colonial era of the Americas. The games included are: Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. GameStop has this listed at $39.99, which I must say is a steal.

Sunset Overdrive (Xbox One)

Sunset-Overdrive-Xbox-One-box-artInsomniac Games brings to us a brand new IP – Sunset Overdrive, which is exclusive to the Xbox One console. This marks the first Xbox exclusive developed by Insomniac Games who are best known as the developers of the Ratchet & Clank franchise for Sony’s PlayStation consoles. The online co-op mode ‘ChaosSquad’ features up to 8 players, yep that’s right 8 players. Your character is fully customizable which I must say is freaking sweet.

Sunset Overdrive is this week’s pick for Conor, Bella Ryse & myself (Bobby/Biggie). My reasoning is simple, the game looks like a blast to play and Insomniac Games just now how to put out games that are fun as hell to play.

Looks like we have a bunch of great titles coming out this week, I sure hope you’ve got your money ready. Be sure to enjoy whichever game(s) you decide to spend your money on, and as always, happy gaming!!

Also, don’t forget that you have an array of free games available to you for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation platforms:
