Destiny DLC Preventing Some Playlists to Work

The Dark Below had just released today and already fans of the game are finding some severe issues.

UPDATE: Activition has been reported by Game Informer with providing comment on the current situation of the game: “All existing strikes and maps are still accessible. Specific activities like nightfall will periodically feature expansion 1 content on the week the newest content is live,” we were told via email. “New public events, updated weapons and gear, new bounties, and of course the steady stream of updates are all available without additional cost to all players.”

Reported earlier on NeoGaf, many users are finding issues with how the new DLC is affecting those who do not have the content. For starters, it is being reported that the weekly and nightfall are reflecting into DLC standard missions. This means that if you haven’t picked up the DLC you are essentially kept from doing two types of grind missions to get specific loot and experience. It is also being reported that drops for the Strike playlist are being converted to DLC equipment, thus causing no drops for some.

While it makes sense for DLC owners to be able to start adding this content to their playlist, it hardly seems for for those who have not purchased it and are still wanting to play the game. Weekly and Nightfall missions essentially are a big part of the farming system for players to collect in order to level up their character and have the best gear available. I’ve reached out to Bungie but have not received a reply; I will be sure to update with any information we receive.
