Just announced via the Borderlands website, both The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 will be making their way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Otherwise known as The Handsome Collection, this release will also include all downloadable content that was released for both games as well as unreleased content for The Pre-Sequel. This brings the total amount of content is two games and 64 different DLC packs. Additionally, players will be able to access their old save files and transfer them to their new consoles. This saves players from having to start over from scratch; although with Borderlands, that is half the fun.
One can argue that a full $60 price tag sounds steep for a re-released game, or two games for this matter. Late last year, Microsoft released Halo the Master Chief Collection offered four games for the same pricing and also will be offering ODST for those who have played the game since its disastrous launch. However, for those who have played either of the games will know how much content Gearbox packed into each title, before DLC is accounted for. For fans of the series this is an awesome tribute to a collection and for those who have not played the game they will get a taste of what Pandora and Vault hunting has to offer.
The announcement of the release also comes with a limited edition Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition. This edition includes a remote controlled Claptrap that has PCB-gyro technology to balance, has a variety of classic Claptrap phrases to recite to you, offers a working lens that will allow you to see what the camera sees via mobile app and is controlled by a joystick figure or mobile device (iOS & Android are confirmed). It also contains lithographs of the vault hunters as well as a steel-book case. This Edition can be yours for the low price of $399.99 if you are one of the few lucky 5,000 to snag it.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is due out March 24th, again, on the PlayStation 4 as well as the Xbox One.
