Silent Hills no longer happening according to Guillermo del Toro

It is a sad day in Silent Hills, well I guess it's always a terrifying day there anyways. Unfortunately for fans anticipating the series installment of Silent Hills, it may no longer be happening. According to sources, Guillermo del Toro, who was reportedly working on the upcoming installment with Hideo Kojima, has stated that the game is no longer being produced.

This is just another domino falling since the very shrouded breakup of Hideo Kojima and Konami. Months back rumors were circulating that Kojima and Kojima Productions were no longer part of Konami. Shortly after the tailspin of the long lasting relationship came crashing as it was announced that Kojima was no longer with Konami. It was assumed then that he would no longer be part of the SIlent Hills project. Then yesterday word of the fan favorite P.T. was to be taken down from the PlayStation Store.

It now seems that Konami has scaled back even their own IPs leaving only Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain as the only major title that we know for them to be producing. Ironically this game was also developed by the Kojima Productions team.

Many fans are also left wondering what will Hideo Kojima and his team be up to moving forward? Last year at Gamescom we projected Hideo Kojima as the clear winner after delivering spectacular games with Metal Gear Solid V and then delivering the smash hit P.T., Playable Trailer, which not only terrified gamers alike, but left a huge puzzle to figure out. This eventually led to the reveal of Silent Hills featuring Norman Reeduis who plays Daryl on AMC’s The Walking Dead television show.
