I was already excited for this game but after seeing this new and awesome feature, that allows you get to build your own village, makes me even more hyped for this game to come out.
You can purchase buildings and arrange them as you see fit. While in your village you are able to bond with your allies and interact with other players.
Using the Nintendo 3DS’s StreetPass feature, you will be able to visit other players castles & villages, where you can purchase weapons & items as well as battle the other players. While you are in a battle, buildings can be destroyed, temporarily, as they will be restored to normal once the fight is over. After fights & battles finish you are given the ability to recruit characters from the other player.
You will also be able to recruit Fire Emblem Icons like Marth, Ike, Robin and Lucina to add to your village by using their amiibos. Once you decide to interact with them, they will show up for a fight, and defeating them will give you the ability to recruit them and add them to your village.
The Amiibo functionality seems great with If, however, seeing how scarce the Fire Emblem character Amiibos are, it is worrying that most people will not be able to take advantage of this feature unless Nintendo plans to increase the stock of the Fire Emblem Amiibos. Nintendo should really just put out a 4-pack of the Fire Emblem amiibos when If releases in the West to make it a bit easier for people to get these particular Amiibos.
Personally, if this game were to be released tomorrow, I would be screwed as I only have Ike to be able to recruit to my village and in order to get the other 3, I’d have to shell out at least $50 per Amiibo, no thank you. Nintendo please get your stuff together in regards to the scarcity of your amiibos.
Fire Emblem If launches in Japan on June 25th, 2015, and in the West next year. Which is kind of a bummer to me, seeing as If is coming out in Japan later this month, you’d think they could have a translated version available in the West this year for a Holiday release.
