With the launch of Destiny’s newest expansion, Rise of Iron, around the corner, many may be wondering what exactly is new and what changes this expansion will be bringing.
Rise of Iron is an expansion that fits itself squarely in the middle of the House of Wolves and The Taken King. Rise of Iron will be bigger than House of Wolves but not as extensive as the more recent Taken King expansion.
So what will Rise of Iron offer exactly? Well, for starters, it will offer the usual light level increase as well as a new raid and patrol area. The light level will raise from the current 335 cap to 385 upon the DLCs release. The new Raid will follow with a release only a few days later that week with the hard mode coming a few weeks after. With the release of the hard mode raid the light level cap will again increase from the new found 385 to 400.
While Rise of Iron will be offering the usual Destiny expansion content, it’ll also be coming with a plethora of new goodies as well. Most notably being the introduction of game changing artifacts and a public accessible horde mode type event from patrol in the new Plaguelands. This new patrol area is still very much shrouded in mystery but hopefully bungie will reveal more as we get closer to the release.
There will be five new story missions, a new social hub, new and returning exotics with bounties along with new vendors offering brand new gear and armor sets. Events such as the Iron Banner will also be getting noticeable changes in functionality and will be made more rewarding to players.
Bungie has been vastly more transparent with their fan base as of late which is a much welcome change so we should be expecting ever more news. With the release date of September 20th pretty much around the corner, expect news to be coming out in the weeks building up to it.
