September’s free games for Playstation Plus members have been revealed. It is always a very exciting time here at the Playback Gaming offices and we guarantee it is for you too. So let’s begin with our Playstation 4 titles for September.
First off we have Journey, a game that in a way could be considered the predecessor to No Man’s Sky. In this game you play a character who wears a robe, and seems to be longing for something important past the mountains in the distance. Along your travels you may meet up with other characters who are also on the same journey, but here is the catch, you cannot communicate with each other by way of chat or voice, only a musical chime! This game has us intrigued. Journey will also be available for free on the PlayStation 3.
Lords of the Fallen
Our next game this month is Lords of the Fallen. It is an action-RPG similar to the Dark Souls series. You take on the role of Harkyn, whom you get to mold into the perfect warrior for your play style. Your class in the game is affected by two major choices; your choices of Magic: brawling, deception, and solace as well as your Armor Set: cleric, rogue, and warrior. This game seems to be a very compelling piece in a way similar to all of the castle fighting games and is definitely worth a play through.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
First in our free games for Playstation 3 is Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. In this installment of the series you return to the story-line from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Forgotten Sands is the link between The Sands of Time and The Warrior Within.
Datura is a game designed with the PlayStation Move in mind and is named after the hallucinogenic drug of the same name. In the game you are moving through a forest and use the Move controls to let you interact with the environment through your characters disembodied hand. Certainly an odd choice, but we can’t wait to see how this plays!
Our first game for the PlayStation Vita this month will also be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. In this game you control a character named Clony. The game progresses in 4 separate sections of each day: Dawn, Noon, Dusk, and Night. The game gets harder with each passing day as more and more of the machines turn on and add to the dangers of the forest.
Amnesia: Memories plays out like a visual novel. In it, on the first of August, you awake as the heroine with no recollection of who you are or where you are. As you play, more and more comes back to mind. Will you find out what happened?
Don’t forget to check out this month’s Games with Gold for Xbox as well! Stay tuned for next months free games for PlayStation Plus.
