The artwork for the 3DS port of Super Mario Maker has made one thing clear, this game won’t use the 3DS’s stereoscopic 3D feature, as it will only be playable in 2D, so owners of the 2DS will get the same experience as owners of the 3DS.
This 3DS port of Super Mario Maker seems like a water-down version of the original game on the Wii U, granted it’s a handheld system and not a home console, but some the features that were removed are head scratching & puzzling. The lack of being able to upload & download courses is strange as that’s what make the original game so special, and also made it one of the best games of last year, in my opinion. However, you can share your created courses via local wireless and Streetpass. You will able to create courses based off of the style of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Maker was originally released on the Wii U in September of 2015, Super Mario Maker For 3DS will hit store shelves & Nintendo eShop on December 2nd.

Will the lack of stereoscopic 3D stop you from buying this 3DS port?
