This Week In New Releases (Week of 10.16.16)

A new week of releases is upon us. Check out some of the games will be releasing this week. (These releases are accounted for North America only. Also, this is not a complete list of every release.)

October 16th

Skylanders Imaginators (PS3, PS4, X360, XB1, Wii U)

Skylanders will make its yearly release with the next installment titled, Imaginators. Imaginators does bring something new to the table as players will able to create their very own Skylander in-game which are called Imaginators, and they are giving us two very special surprise guests in Crash Bandicoot & Dr. Neo Cortex. Crash Bandicoot, along with his longtime nemesis, Dr. Neo Cortex will make their long-awaited return to the gaming world, where they have not been seen since 2008. Initially, Crash & Neo will only be available to purchase with the Crash Bandicoot starter packs for PS3 & PS4 platforms but will be available to purchase separately sometime during the holiday season.

October 18th

Batman: Return To Arkham (PS4, XB1)

Virtuos is remastering Rocksteady’s masterpieces in Arkham Asylum & Arkham City for the PS4 & XB1 platforms. On top of the base games, all of the DLC that was ever released will be included in this package. It is a shame that Origins isn’t getting the remastering treatment as well, but WB must have their reasons as to why Origins isn’t getting the remastering treatment. If you’ve never played these games this remaster is definitely something you should pick up.

Rock Band Rivals (PS4, XB1)

Rock Band Rivals is an upcoming expansion to Rock Band 4. Rivals will be adding a story-driven career mode and an asynchronous multiplayer mode dubbed Rivals mode. Pre-ordering the game will net you 10-12 extra songs, but those songs will also be available to purchase at a later date.

Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XB1)

EA & DICE are going back in time for their latest Battlefield offering, prepare yourself to fight during WWI. Battlefield 1 will feature the classic Battlefield gameplay you’ve come to expect but with a WWI twist. The single-player campaign will be unlike any previous BF campaign as it is composed of several separate “War Stories”. If you’re an EA Access subscriber on XB1 or PC, you can treat yourself to 10 hours of gameplay before it officially launches.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection (PS4)

The two previously released LEGO Harry Potter games are getting remastered exclusively for the PS4. With the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them, it makes perfect sense as to why they’d choose to remaster these games.

Also releasing this week:

Pokémon Sun & Moon Special Demo Version (3DS) – October 18th

Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls (PS Vita) – October 18th

Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky (PS4, PS Vita) – October 18th

SteamWorld Heist (Wii U) – October 20th

Well, this week has a nice, solid selection of games releasing, so I hope that you’ve got your money ready. I hope that you end up enjoying whichever game(s) you decide to spend your money on, and as always, happy gaming!!

Also, don’t forget to check out this month’s Games With Gold & PlayStation Plus freebies as well.
