This Week In New Releases (Week of 11.27.16)

A new week of releases is upon us. Check out some of the games will be releasing this week. (These releases are accounted for North America only. Also, this is not a complete list of every release.)

November 29th

Final Fantasy XV (PS4, XB1)

More than 10 years has passed since Final Fantasy XV’s initial announcement as Versus XIII, but over time its direction was shifted and it was decided that this title should be the next main title in the Final Fantasy franchise. XV will be the first mainline game in the Final Fantasy franchise to feature real-time action combat versus the traditional turned-based combat that has been a staple in the Final Fantasy games.

The Crew: Ultimate Edition (PC, PS4, XB1)

The Ultimate Edition release coincides with the release of the brand new Calling All Units expansion. This edition of The Crew features the main game, the season pass vehicles, the Wild Run expansion, and the new Calling All Units expansion, all for $50.

December 2nd

Steep (PC, PS4, XB1)

With the release of Steep, Ubisoft is tapping into the extreme sports market, which truly hasn’t been done justice since the first part of the seventh generation with EA’s Skate franchise, but the winter sports really haven’t seen video game adaptations other than a few over the years. You will get to compete in four different winter sports, which are skiing, wingsuit flying, snowboarding, and paragliding. Hopefully, Steep will make this niche market of video games relevant again with this release, and we will end up seeing more extreme sports games in the future.

Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS (3DS)

The smash hit that was Super Mario Maker on the Wii U will now be available on the go with some differences since it is on the 3DS. Exclusive to the 3DS version is that Nintendo has designed 100 new courses that will come pre-installed on the game. You can download courses from the Wii U version, but not all courses will be compatible with the 3DS version. It’s worth mentioning that you cannot upload created courses for the 3DS, but you can share them via Local Play or using Streetpass. One cool feature is the ability to collaborate on courses with others using Local Play.

Well, this week has a lackluster selection of games releasing, but regardless I hope that you’ve got your money ready. I hope that you end up enjoying whichever game(s) you decide to spend your money on, and as always, happy gaming!!

Also, don’t forget to check out this month’s Games With Gold & PlayStation Plus games as well.
