Five Nintendo Switch Games That I’m Looking Forward To – That Aren’t Breath of the Wild

Yesterday Nintendo finally showed off the Switch during a presentation in Japan, and today in New York they showed off some games in a Treehouse event. After seeing all the games that have been both officially and formally announced, I did the impossible and narrowed down a list of 5 games, not included The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild because everyone is looking forward to that game.

Splatoon 2 (Summer 2017)

This is probably the Nintendo Switch game that I’m the most excited for, even more than Breath of the Wild. I was totally shocked that it was a sequel and not just a definitive edition of Splatoon from the Wii U.

Fire Emblem Warriors (TBC 2017)

I would have rather seen a traditional Fire Emblem game, but I like the idea of mixing the Dynasty Warriors style of gameplay with Fire Emblem. If Hyrule Warriors is any indication this should be a good one.

Super Mario Odyssey (Holiday 2017)

Super Mario Odyssey appears to be a 3D Mario game in vein to Sunshine & 64, with a hub world to navigate along with actual levels. I’m not going to lie but it was funny & weird seeing Mario interacting with actual humans.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition (April 28th)

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the definitive edition of Mario Kart 8 from the Wii U. It features all the DLC, adds 3 new characters, 3 new karts and a revamped battle mode for this release. I was needing Nintendo to give me a reason to repurchase this game and they did just that.

Arms (Spring 2017)

Arms is a fantastic looking boxing that takes elements from shooters with each fighter’s arms being their weapon and having pros & cons. You will use each of the joy-con controllers to use as the way to control each arm using motion controls. I’m typically not fond of motion controls but this game looks to be fun as hell and I’m hyped to play this one.

Now those were my top 5 Nintendo Switch games that I’m looking forward to and were not in any particular order. What Nintendo Switch games are you hyped for?
